Getting Started

What does HireReady actually do?

HireReady reads your resume and a job posting, then evaluates whether you meet the minimum qualifications — the same way a screener at a government agency or large employer would. It tells you where you qualify, where you fall short, and how to close the gaps before you apply.

What file formats are supported?

Resumes: PDF (.pdf) and Word documents (.docx, .doc). Job postings: PDF or paste the text directly into the text box. Note: scanned image PDFs (where the text is a picture, not selectable) cannot be read — if your resume was scanned, you'll need to upload a digital version or copy-paste the content.

Do I need to create an account?

You can run one free analysis without an account. To see your full qualification score and access resume optimization, you'll need to sign up. Paid plans unlock more analyses per month and additional tools like cover letter generation and interview prep.

Understanding Your Score

What does my qualification score mean?

Your score (0–100) reflects how well your resume meets the minimum qualifications for the specific job posting you submitted. A score of 70 or above generally indicates you meet the stated requirements. Below 70 means there are gaps — the results page shows you exactly what's missing.

Why did I score low when I think I'm qualified?

A few common reasons: (1) Your resume doesn't clearly state the required education, experience, or skills — even if you have them. HireReady reads what's written, not what's implied. (2) The job posting has specific minimum qualifications that differ from general experience. (3) Your experience is in a related but not equivalent field. The results page breaks down each requirement so you can see exactly where the gap is.

How is the score calculated?

HireReady uses the same minimum qualification framework used in civil service screening — built on I/O Psychology principles and real government hiring practice. It evaluates education level and field, months of relevant experience, and required skills or certifications. Each component is scored individually, then combined. It's not keyword matching — it's structured evaluation against explicit requirements.

Can I trust the score?

HireReady was validated against 185 real resumes across five government positions, reviewed by the same I/O Psychologist who built the screening framework. For government and civil service roles it performs well. Private sector roles may vary depending on how clearly the job posting states its requirements. The score is a strong signal, not a guarantee.

Using the Tool

My PDF won't upload or gives an error — what do I do?

First, confirm your PDF is text-based (you can select and copy text from it in a PDF viewer). If it's a scanned image, the text can't be extracted — try copy-pasting your resume content into a Word document and saving as .docx. If the file looks fine but still errors, email us at support@hirereadysuite.com with the file and we'll help.

Can I use HireReady for private sector jobs, not just government?

Yes — select "Private Sector" mode on the analysis page. The scoring adapts to private sector job postings, which typically have less formal minimum qualification language. Government mode is optimized for civil service postings with explicit MQ sections.

How many analyses do I get per month?

Free: 1 analysis (score not shown). Starter ($5.99/mo): 3 analyses. Professional ($14.99/mo): 12 analyses. Unlimited ($19.99/mo): unlimited analyses, plus all optimization tools. Counts reset on the 1st of each month.

Account & Billing

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel anytime from your Account page. Your access continues until the end of the billing period — no prorated refunds, but you won't be charged again.

I was charged but can't access my account. What do I do?

Email support@hirereadysuite.com with your account email and we'll sort it out within 1 business day.
